Our commitment to the AGENDA 2030

17 GOALS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

As a company, we are committed to contributing to the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all by 2030. These goals address the most pressing challenges, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice.

By integrating sustainability into our business practices, we aim to not only drive economic success but also make a positive impact on society and the environment.

Our dedication to the SDGs reflects our belief in the importance of sustainable business as a force for good. Through innovation and collaboration, we strive to be at the forefront of creating a sustainable future, meeting our customers' needs, and making a tangible difference in the world.

No poverty

Our commitment to the fight against poverty is reflected in our support for local and global social projects. We focus on fair pay in order to improve the living conditions of all.

The workshops for disabled people in the region have valued us as a reliable partner for many years

With the help of our supplier guidelines, we ensure that our partners also pay fair wages. We ensure compliance with the supplier guidelines through suitable measures such as regular supplier audits.

01

Zero hunger

By paying fair wages at suki and in our value chain, we help to ensure that no one goes hungry. Everyone deserves access to sufficient and nutritious food.

We insist that our global suppliers pay wages that are at least equal to the statutory minimum wage, cover basic needs and ensure a decent standard of living for employees.

02

Good health & well-being

The health of our employees and communities is important to us. We promote active health measures and set standards for safety and well-being in the workplace.

Our products comply with legal requirements such as the REACH regulation or the relevant product safety regulations. We monitor product conformity in our own laboratories and with recognized service providers (VPA, TÜV, SGS, Eurofins, etc.).

We are committed to health in the workplace, both for our own employees and for the employees of our suppliers. At our sites, we support our colleagues through health-promoting measures in the workplace (AOK) or, increasingly, through ergonomic workstations in offices and logistics.

We require our suppliers to consistently protect the health of their employees. We audit our suppliers on a regular basis.

03

Quality education

Education opens doors. That's why we have been offering a wide range of training programs and promoting dual studies for decades to give young people a variety of opportunities for the future.

We take great care to ensure that no child labor is used in our supply chain.

04

Gender equality

We are committed to gender equality. Diversity and inclusion are cornerstones of our corporate culture and decision-making processes.

The sukigroup values that guide us in our daily collaboration clearly express this basic attitude.

We prohibit our suppliers from treating employees unequally in any form.

05

Clean water & sanitation

Access to clean water and sanitary facilities is a human right. Accordingly, we ensure that our partners provide their employees with access to water and suitable sanitary facilities.

06

Affordable & clean energy

Switching to renewable energy sources and increasing our energy efficiency are central pillars of our sustainability strategy in order to make a positive contribution to climate protection.

By consistently using LED technology, adjusting shift times and purchasing energy-efficient devices, we have been able to reduce our electricity consumption by around a third. In addition, we have been using only certified green electricity at our logistics site in Landscheid for several years.

Through various measures such as thermal insulation, intelligent temperature control and selective temperature reductions, we have been able to reduce our heating energy consumption by around a third. Since 2023, we have been covering the remaining heating requirements by connecting to a sustainable local heating network.

07

Decent work & economic growth

We promote decent working conditions, support fair pay and ethical business practices. Our goal is to promote sustainable economic growth that benefits everyone. In our dealings with our employees and business partners, we are guided by our sukigroup corporate guidelines and our values.

08

Industry, innovation & infrastructure

Our investments in modern, sustainable technologies and infrastructures drive innovation and strengthen the industry for a sustainable future.

Together with our partners at VTF, we have brought the production of high-quality wood construction screws back to Europe.

In this way, we are strengthening industrial value creation in our region and avoiding unnecessary CO2 emissions.

09

Reduced inequalities

We are working to reduce inequalities within and outside our company. Promoting equal opportunities and inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.

10

Sustainable cities and communities

With initiatives for electromobility and support for home charging of vehicles, we contribute to more sustainable cities and communities in which quality of life and environmental protection go hand in hand.

When designing our packaging, we ensure that it is highly recyclable. In addition, we will continuously increase the proportion of post-consumer recyclate in our packaging over the next few years. In this way, we are helping to ensure that packaging is recycled and does not end up in the environment.

11

Responsible consumption and production

We are committed to sustainable consumption and environmentally friendly value creation in many ways. suki is certified to ISO 50001, an international standard for energy management. This certification ensures that energy efficiency is permanently on our agenda.

Specifically, we have been heating our site in Landscheid completely sustainably via a local heating connection since the beginning of 2024. Other measures include the switch to paperless picking in our logistics, the switch to digital document exchange with our business partners and the replacement of all light sources with energy-saving LED technology, which we systematically implemented several years ago.

We are continuously improving our products and working to reduce our environmental footprint. For example, our yellow performance screws are manufactured without the use of chrome VI and our packaging is generally easy to recycle. We will continuously increase the use of recycled raw materials in the coming years.

12

Climate action

Through targeted measures such as the promotion of e-mobility and participation in climate protection projects, we are actively committed to protecting our planet and reducing CO2 emissions.

For years now, we have been sourcing electricity from certified sustainable sources, offsetting CO2 emissions generated during the printing of our packaging and reducing our carbon footprint by using FSC-certified cardboard packaging that ensures sustainable forestry and contains a high proportion of recycled base materials.

We are currently drawing up our CO2 balance in order to actively work on reducing our CO2 footprint in the coming years. In this context, we are a member of Manufacture 2030 and Climate Partner.

13

Life below water

Protecting the oceans and marine habitats is important to us. We reduce our packaging to avoid unnecessary waste. We also design our packaging in such a way that it can be easily recycled. For us, the circular economy is more than just a buzzword: we already use recycled materials in our packaging and will continuously increase the proportion of post-consumer recyclate in the coming years.

14

Life on land

The preservation of biodiversity and sustainable land use are crucial for the future of our planet. We are committed to protecting natural habitats through FSC certification and other measures, such as our collaboration with "Plant for the Planet".

15

Peace, justice & strong institutions

Our contribution to a fairer world includes compliance with ethical standards and the promotion of transparency and integrity.

We not only commit ourselves and our suppliers to complying with the law, but also take responsibility for implementing the standards we have set ourselves. We summarize the most important basic rules and principles in our Business Code of Conduct. It provides a binding description of the values we share and gives us a goal to achieve in order to ensure the long-term success of our company.

Our membership of Amfori BSCI and SEDEX and our systematic supplier evaluation with Ecovadis are an expression of our efforts.

16

Partnerships for the goals

By working with global partners and initiatives, we are strengthening our commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and promoting sustainable development worldwide. For example, we are a member of Amfori BSCI, whose Code of Conduct is based on the conventions of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Global Compact and the OECD guidelines.
